All of the picture settings appear to be stored in the database. I’ll go hunting for those at a later time.
You can control some of this via client policy. You can use the DisplayPhoto policy with these settings.
NoPhoto – Photos are not displayed in Lync 2013.
PhotosFromADOnly – Only photos that have been published in Active directory.
AllPhotos – Photos from AD or URL are disabled.

* 0 = Do not join audio. 1 = Lync. 2 and higher are other numbers listed. For my client 2 is work and 3 is mobile.
Hi! I there any way to hide the message preview from notification pop-up (toast)?
In Lync 2010 this was possible, not in 2013 the option seems gone.

None that I’m aware of anymore. Maybe look at using SuperToast for this function?
